Description
            On the occasion of the 13th Anniversary of the State of Israel, this medal was struck to honor the Bar Mitzvah year of the establishment of the Israel Defense Forces.  Issued in 1961, the medals were authorized by the Israel Ministry of Defence.  With each medal, the representative of “Maarachot” Publishing House of the Israel Ministry of Defence in Israel, presented a copy of the official booklet showing the emblems of the Israel Defence Forces (163 illustrations) and a pictorial Review of Israel Defence Army of 390 photographs.  The foreword was written by the Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Mr. David Ben Gurion.
