The statue was made in 1969/70 by Austin Productions. It was designed by David Klass. Austin Productions stopped producing statues and sculptures in 2009. This statue is extensively detailed and has an aged, weathered look. The statue is signed on the base, and Austin Prod Inc on the back of the base. The statue is mounted on a wooden block.

Description
Austin Productions has a reputation for high quality reproductions that became collectible despite mass production. The original design for this statuette was by David Klass. 

David Klass studied Art and Sculpture at Pratt Institute receiving Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He taught lift drawing at Pratt in 1966 and continued his own studies at the Art Students League and throughout Europe. Klass is a highly skilled craftsman combining impressionist techniques with a fine sense of realism. 

Klass also creates liturgical works for Jewish Institutions; he commissions works for Synagogues such as menorah, Ark doors and other items. He designed the Holocaust Memorial Garden for Congregation Beth Emeth in Delaware.
