Constitution of The Vaad Hoier, The Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of Greater Cincinnati - Organized 5691

We, the Orthodox Jews of Greater Cincinnati, in order to form a more perfect Union, and encourage and develop all matters affecting the observance of the Orthodox Jewish Laws and Customs, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the Vaad Hoier, The Union of the Orthodox Jewish Congregations of Greater Cincinnati.
And, wherefor, it having been decided at a meeting of the following Congregations: -
Congregation Kneseth Israel Beth Tefyla Tiferes Zion Bnai Israel Beth Hamedrash Hagodol Yad Charutzim Bnai Jacob Tiferes Isiael tt Ohave Sholom Temple Israel of Covington
to organize and establish a Vaad Hoier of Greater Cincinnati,
And, wherefor, having invited Rabbi Eliezer Silver, President of the Agudath Horabbonim, The Union of Orthodox Rabbonim of the United States and Canada to come to Cincinnati, and organize and establish a Vaad Hoier, and draft a Constitution for same.
Therefore, the following decisions of Rabbi Eliezer Silver were adopted, to become the basic principles, upon which this Vaad Hoier was to be established.
"By the will of the Almighty, I, Eliezer Silver was called to Cincinnati, on the 17th day of Iyar 5691 as President of the Agudath Horabbonim, for the purpose of organizing a Vaad Hoier, which should be comprised of the Orthodox Congregations of Greater Cincinnati.
Upon my arrival, representatives of the Congregations assembled, and undertook to fulfil, all the plans which I should formulate, and all the representatives of the Congregations agreed to sign an agreement.
So the following agreement was then made and signed. "The following representatives of the undersigned Orthodox Congregations of Greater Cincinnati, agree to accept my decisions, as President of the Agudath Horabbonim, in connection with the Vaad Hoier, and the pro-cedure of electing a Rov for the United Orthodox Congregations of Greater Cincinnati, and also agree to accept all the decisions regard-ing the Vaad Hoier, which have been accepted to date, the 17th day of Iyar 5691.
