​The medal was designed by Kretschmer.

900 copies of this medal were issued in Bronze (45mm).

Tefahot was established in 1945 to provide mortgage loans to aid the construction of houses and public buildings in pre-state Israel.  In 1962, it became a bank.  In 1968 the bank’s main office was transferred to Jerusalem.  The mark the occation, this special medal was issued and awarded to bank employees and other important persons.  This medal was never offered to the general public.
