The front / obverse has in its center a picture of the sun, as a symbol of hope, shining over Mt. Sinai.  Curved around the rim, in Hebrew, English, and Arabic is written the verse, “I will give peace in the land – Leviticus 26:6”.

Description
 
This medal was issued by the State of Israel in 1979 to commemorate the signing of the Peace Treaty with Egypt.  The medals were issued in Bronze (59mm - 32,974 minted - original issue price of $8.00), Silver (59mm - 10,676 minted - original issue price of $50), Silver (45mm - 15,549 minted - original issue price of $24.  Edge of Silver medals stamped with .935), and Gold (35mm - 8,162 minted - original issue price of $200).  The bronze medals were issued by the Kretschmer and the Hecht mints.  The silver medals were issued by the Kretschmer, the Hecht, and the Amnograph mints.  The gold medals were issued by the Israel Government Mint, Jerusalem.  The medal was designed by Zvi Narkiss and was engraved by Kretschmer.
