Description
Julius Theodor Erbstein (born March 23, 1803 in Meissen, died October 4, 1882 in Dresden) was a German historian, numismatist and archivist, son of Karl Friedrich Wilhelm.

The medal was designed and minted by Max Barduleck, who was a German Mint-engraver and Medallist at Dresden, circa 1870 – 1880 (and possibly later).

Julius Theodor Erbstein was the author of Der Bracteatenfund zu Wolkenberg bei Spremberg in der Niederlausitz / beschr. von Julius Theodor Erbstein (translated as The Bracteatenfund to Cloud Mountain near Spremberg in Lower Lusatia)
