ZEIRIE AGUDATH ISRAEL

National convention opens on February 28 in Ste. Agathe. Rabbi Abraham D. Niznik is president of the organization in Montreal. Through Sunday, March 2, delegates will attend, mostly young Orthodox men and women. Rabbi Israel L. Hausman, director of Adath Jeshurun Synagogue, of Montreal, is the national chairman of the convention. Speakers will be: Rabbi Eliezer Silver, of Cincinnati, Ohio, national president; Rabbi Jeruchim Gorelick Aguda, professor of Talmud at Yeshiva University; Michael Tress, national administrative president; Dr. H. Bieberfeld, noted physicist; Rabbi Chaim Nussbaum, of Toronto; Dr. Meyer Schwartzman, Rabbi of Winnipeg; Rabbi Abraham Rein, presidium member of Agudath Israel in Israel. During seven sessions these topics will be discussed: an international authoritative rabbinic body centered in Jerusalem; the ideology of the movement for 1958; parochial school education in North America; the progress of the organization settlements in Israel.
