RABBI ZELIG SHARFSTEIN Z"L
Synagogue of Lubavitch was established, along with an office for the Lubavitcher Rebbe and a Beis Midrash, a house of study, where Zelig and many other students learned.
When the Previous Lubavitcher Rebbe moved to Amer-ica in 1940, he established the Central Yeshiva Tomchei Temimim, the first Lubavitcher Yeshiva to open up in Crown Heights. It is a world renowned Yeshiva and Zelig decided to move from Yeshivas Torah V'Daas to this Ye-shiva as it had a Lubavitch ethos and he wanted to main-tain the environment that his parents had set for him at home. Zelig was one of the first students to attend this Yeshiva and he was present in September 1941 to con-clude his high school years.
During Zelig's Yeshiva years he remained in close proximity to the Chabad-Lubavitch World Headquarters, and therefore had many personal, first hand ex-periences with numerous promi-nent Lubavitcher Chassidim as well as both the Previous Lubavitcher Rebbe and the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson.
One of the many experiences that left an impression on
