RABBI ZELIG SHARFSTEIN Z"L
gaged in March of 1954. Their wedding took place in New York on the 12th of September, equivalent to the 14th of Elul, in that same year.
Following their wedding, Zelig went to the Torah Mesorah, the placement bureau and Rabbi Silver, the Chief Rabbi of Cincinnati was there seeking teachers. The Chofetz Chaim Day School of Cincinnati offered Zelig a job and the Rebbe advised him to accept the posi-tion and go to Cincinnati.
Zelig and Rivka went on Shlichus to Cincinnati, Ohio for ten years. Both Zelig and his wife had been teaching in the Chofetz Chaim Day School, conducting classes about Jewish laws, history and customs for college students at the University of Cincinnati Campus, and held Shabbatons in their home for students to experience a traditional Shabbat in a Jewish home. Zelig also held a class at his home for students from the Hebrew Union College who had requested that he learn Talmud with them; and conducted learning sessions with a very active committed N'Shei - Lubavitch women's group every two weeks.
