were married, they were sent by the Lubavitcher Rebbe to Sydney, Australia on Shlichus. Today, she and her hus-band, Rabbi Moshe Gutnick are the Rabbi and Rebbetzin of the Bondi Mizrachi Synagogue. Rabbi Gutnick is the Rabbinic Administrator of the NSW Kashrut Authority, and a Dayan - judge, on the Sydney Beth Din. They live in Sydney and are proud parents of nine children.
Rivka and Zelig's youngest son, Menachem Mendel was born to them in the year 1964. Today, he is married to Sara (Feldman) Sharfstein and is the father of nine chil-dren, living in Crown Heights, New York. Rabbi Sharf-stein is the Rabbinic Administrator of the Lubavitch Beth Din in Brooklyn, New York.
The Rebbe and Rivka's parents, Harav Shlomo Aaron and Rebbetzin Chaya Fraida Kazarnovsky were living in Brooklyn, New York. After 10 years in Shlichus, Zelig and Rivka felt that perhaps it was time to return to their "roots" - New York City - having accomplished what they could in Cincinnati.
Zelig and Rivka went to Rivka's parents for Pesach in the year 1964. After Pesach, a special time was set aside for Shluchim and guests who had come from interstate or overseas for Pesach, to have a private audience with the Rebbe before returning home.
