At the end of the Yom Kippur War, the following were the critical dates relating to the cessation of active fighting between Israel and Egypt:
 
1973 October 27  Egypt and Israel, then Syria, agree to cease-fire.
1974 January 18  Israel and Egypt sign first disengagement accord.
1974 May 31  Israel and Syria sign disengagement accord.
1975 June 5  Suez Canal reopens.
1975 September 4  Israel and Egypt sign second disengagement accord.
