Counselorship established September, 1944, Leonard Beerman, Rabbi
1950's located at northeast corner of Main and Walnut Streets During this early period Joseph and Hilda Cohen, Dr. and Mrs. Simon Rosin, Jack Samuelson, Libby Murstein, Milton Shaps, Robert Droz, Daniel Cohen and Zvi Sobel, at whose home Hillel often met, were the main support for Miami Hillel, then known as Miami-Western Hillel.
Early 1960's. Norman Sackheim gets Building Fund started with $10,000 contribution
November, 1965 Moved to 18 East Withrow
December, 1966 Arthur Beerman selected site on East Walnut for new Hillel House and provided funds to purchase land for same
February 4, 1967 Property at 11-15 East Walnut purchased
September, 1972 Beerman Foundation awarded grant making possible construction of Arthur Beeman Center
December 3, 1972 Elliott Levey offered the services of McGraw Construction in constructing the Hillel building. Karl Martin becomes the architect.
June, 1973 Moved to Park Place until new building ready
June 17, 1973 Groundbreaking
November 11, 1973 Cornerstone ceremonies
