This was the Synagogue’s Yartzeit Calendar, an annual calendar separate by the twelve Hebrew months that listed former member’s annual yartzeit (Hebrew date of death) so that the synagogue may observe the yartzeit by saying kaddish (memorial prayer), lighting a candle, learning torah and giving tzedakah (charity) in memory of the departed member.
