1900 Purim Gragger

1900

caption:
Purim gragger from Tifereth Israel Synagogue, Mt. Carmel, PA. This ritual object is used as a noise-maker during the reading of the Megillah (Book of Esther) during the Purim festival. It probably served as the “shul gragger” because of its exceptionally loud sound.
