1. Before reciting, he should think that he is now going to fulfill the mitzvah of Sh’ma
2. 2. During recital of the first Posuk, he should concentrate on accepting the yok of G-d’s sovereignty upon himself.
3. When uttering G-d’s name (Hashem), he should think of His mastery over everything and of His eternity. When uttering His name (Elokim), he should think of his omnipotence.
