Temple Sholom
It is with a deep sense of pleasure and pride that we gather together on this significant occasion in the life of Temple Sholom. Twenty years have passed since those early days of parlor meetings with Rabbi Brav; then followed the Ross Avenue building and now our present facility with its lovely sanctuary, beautiful in its quiet dignity. Those years have been filled with countless hours of devoted service to the Congregation not only by Rabbi Brav and now by Rabbi Splansky, but by large numbers of you, its members, who served on numerous committees furthering the growth and meaning of Sholom. To those of you who gave of yourselves and many of you are still giving and to those who gave and are no longer with us, we are deeply grateful and indebted.
History is written on our corridor walls with the photographs of the classes of consecrates, confirmands and graduates over those twenty years - Temple Sholom is not a building but a living, thriving, vibrant congregation! As a congregation we are still in our youth. We look forward to a future that will fulfill and exemplify all that Judaism really means. We look to the past for guidance but are prepared for the future with whatever changes and adjustments are necessary to meet the needs of our members. May we continue to grow in strength and continue to write our history on the corridor walls and may Temple Sholom become an integral part of our lives and those of our children as Jews with an ancient and sacred convenient.
