MEDITATION
The memory of your life rises before us this solemn hour as we recall all the kindness, love and encouragement which you have shown us during your life. With untiring zeal you provided for our spiritual needs. You rejoiced in our achievements, you guided us in our perplexities, and strengthened us in our trials and disappoint-ments. We can pay you the tribute which you so richly deserve, by cherishing the ideals and principles you have taught us, by con-tinuing the noble work you have left unfinished, by loyally up-holding the heritage of Israel which you have transmitted upon us, and by serving our peolpe and all who need us. Though you are gone from our physical view, the bond of love which unites us can never be severed . May the memories of your life spur us on to follow truth and righteousness. Amen
O Lord, as we recall our departed Horav Eliezer Silver, and the blessings he bequeathed us we pray Thee to keep his soul united with ours in the land of life. May our faith, like his, be strong, our devotion to the Torah unfaltering, our love for mankind constant, and our concern for Israel and humanity unceasing. For as we identify ourselves with the life, hopes and traditions of an eternal people, we ourselves, take on the aspect of eternity. May we so live that when our years draw to a close, we too, shall be remembered for good and for blessing.
Amen
