Dear Friends of New Hope:
"THIS IS NOT A SCHNORR LETTER!"
It is a letter of personal concern. It does not come from our Rabbis, President or Board members. I an writing it as a private member of our New Hope Family.
As we are getting older, we might experience more sad happenings than joyful ones. I was thinking: "What can we do about it?"
The founders of our Congregation as well as all of us have supported it, and I an proud of our accomplishments. We have a beautiful Synagogue, and the building is paid for.
Why am I writing this letter? A building, Synagogue and social hall, are empty without the participation of its members.
I urge you to think of an occasion to come to Synagogue. Celebrate your birthday, anniversary, Bar Mitzvah Shabbos or any other event with us. Let us know, when you will come, so we can honor you. If you do not wish to be recognized, o.k. too.
I would like to see you more often than just on a yahrzeit or the High Holidays. It does not matter how observant you are - you are part of this family and have the right to be proud of it.
Shavuoth is coming up, Sunday and Monday, May 26 and 27. Sunday, you can hear the Ten Commandments recited as only our Rabbi Manfred Rabenstein can do it, and Monday is not only the general Memorial Day, but we also recite Yiskor for our deceased.
