The text of the letter is in Yiddish.  The English translation is as follows:

1.     In my opinion, they should (continue) teaching their all of their classes until Friday of Parshas Nitzavim. Every teacher should teach the students he has taught in the past. They should dissolve all arguments, and during the month of Elul (it is appropriate) in my opinion that everyone concede and forgive (his fellow) and every teacher his student. May those who seek forgiveness multiply, and with repentance, let there be peace.

2.     Once a week Rabbi Rottenberg should teach all of the older students, and Rabbi Gordin should teach all (of the older students) together once a week as well. On Sunday, Rabbi Rottenberg, and on Wednesday, Rabbi Gordin, for as long as school is in session. This in addition to the regular lectures each ones delivers to his own class.

3.     Rabbi Jaffe should also teach his own class. No should displace the boundary of his neighbor and they should all endeavor to honor one another and speak kindly each man of his fellow.

4.     Over the course of the High holy days and the subsequent holidays each teacher should endeavor to travel to other cities to pursue monetary sources to cover the salaries of all of the teachers, as well as the office and Yeshiva expenses. Each teacher should travel to a designated area accompanied by a partner who may be either a student, a rabbi, or a layperson.

5.     As a credential, every (teacher) should possess a letter of affirmation with my signature that he has the authority to collect money on behalf of the Yeshiva. A public announcement should be printed to the effect that the entire administration in under my control and that the Yeshiva is prepared to accept students who will arrive immediately after the holiday, between Isru Chag and Rosh Chodesh Marchesvan.

6.     They should announce publicly that in my capacity as Leader I have taken it upon myself to be the administrator of the Yeshiva, to deliver weekly lectures, and to accept new students. I will be here for a few days in the week following the holiday, G-d willing.

7.     They should endeavor to obtain a loan for eight thousand (dollars) for the time being, with the understanding that it will be repaid from monies collected in the coming days during the month of Tishrei.

8.     I am suggesting the following interim board of Rabbis and laypeople to assist me in bringing the matter to fruition: The three rabbis of Detroit, two local rabbis, eleven community leaders…

9.     No money shall be disbursed without a voucher signed by me…
