Description
This medal was designed by A. Sendik, produced by the Shekel medal company, and was struck in bronze (59 mm), silver (35 mm) and gold.

Ironically American weapons assistance was necessary and provided during the war, even though the then US Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger, warned Israel before the war that if Israel struck her enemies pre-emptively she would not receive "so much as a nail" in assistance from the Americans.
