President's Message
It is with a great deal of pride and humility that I, as President of Congregation Agudas Israel present to you and the community this beautiful structure. These buildings represent the sweat, toil, tears, and heartache of the many members who participated from the dream of our Golden Jubilee, five years ago, through the Extension High Holiday Services and finally with the purchase of land and the construction of this building. A beautiful, modern, air conditioned Synagogue and Auditorium, capable of caring for our spiritual and social needs and a large and active Talmud Torah; this is what we have accomplished. But all this does not happen by itself; it takes many people, much work and money to do these things. In behalf of the Congregation I want to thank the people who have made this day a reality. It is impossible to thank each and everyone separately, therefore, I will only list some of those who have excelled in their devotion to our Building Program. A vote of thanks to our attorney, Joseph Schwartz, for all the legal work; to Morris Amarant for the architectural work; to Monroe Berkowitz and his committee for planning and arranging this dedication; to Mrs. Al Sharfman and her committee for planning the banquet this evening;to the entire building committee; and last but not least, to our very humble and worthy Rabbi, who worked tirelessly for the good of our Congregation. He has toiled and led his flock in the tradition of a true Jewish leader.
Isidore Liebowitz, President
Congregation Agudas Israel
