Canadians Find Acceptable Method Of Animal Handling MONTRAEL (WNS) —
A new method of pre-handling animals for slaughter, acceptable alike to orthodox rabbinical authorities and humane societies, has been re-ported in Canada. The new process may end a long-time conflict along the same lines in the United States which had threatened the practice of Jewish ritual slaughter.
 
Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik of Boston and Rabbi Eliezer Silver of Cincinnati went to Canada to examine the new method which was developed by the Canada Packers of Toronto to comply with new regulations on humane slaughter which becomes effective next December 1. The noted Orthodox rabbis gave this approval as did the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
