Rabbi Herman Schaalman, The Center for Holocaust and Humanity Education
Rabbi Herman Schaalman was the honoree at the Graham Taylor Award Dinner at Chicago Theological Seminary on October 19, 2000.
In 1935 Herman Schaalman was invited by the Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion to continue his studies with them instead of continuing in Germany. He became one of 11 scholars the College - Institute saved from the Nazis. He was ordained a rabbi in 1941 from the College - Institute.
