Attack on Rabbi Denied in Court

Edward Sherman and his wife, Ann, of 711 Ridgeway avenue, pleaded innocent to charges of asault with intent to kill when arraigned Monday before Judge Charles S. Bell in Criminal Court and were released under $1000 bond each. The trial date has not been set.

They were indicted Friday on charges of beating Rabbi Eliezer Silver last Dec. 9. They denied beating the rabbi. Mrs. Sherman said the rabbi was shoved in argument over a laundry business contract.
