Sonnenthal was an Austrian actor who was arguably the most famous of all Jewish actors of the 19th century.  This medal was struck to commemorate his 25th anniversary at the Burg Theater.

History.  A similar medal was offered for sale in Rosenblum Rare Coin's Fall 2010
(Auction #40J).  Lot 536.
