Young Israel
Some 300 delegates are expected at the 10th annual Midwestern convention of Young Israel at the Hotel Gibson, Nov. 21st – 24th.
The convention will open Thursday evening, Nov. 21st. Mayor James G. Stewart will welcome delegates. Samuel Fromberg, national present, and Rabbi Eliezer Silver, Praesidium of Agudath Harabonim of the United States and Canada will speak. The public is invited.
Rabbi Emphraim Epstein, of St. Louis, will speak Friday evening, Nov. 22nd, at Washington Avenue Synagogue.
The formal dance will be held Saturday night, Nov. 23rd. The banquet will be held Sunday, Nov. 24th, at 6 p.m. Tickets for these two affairs may be purchased from any Young Israel member.
All boys and girls entering the oratorical contest are urged to send their manuscripts immediately to Leo Koenigsberg, 677 Greenwood Avenue. Title is “The Joy of Being a Jew.”
