Elders of the Congregation carrying the Scrolls of the Law, with the Rabbi and the Cantor, are assembled in the Vestibule of the Synagogue – As they approach the closed doors of the Auditorium the Cantor exclaims:
“Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will enter into them, I will give thanks unto the Lord.”
The Choir within responds
“This is the gate of the Lord: the righteous may enter into it.”
OPENING OF THE DOORS -- MR. SAMUEL ROSENBERG, President
The Assembly rises to greet the sacred Scrolls
PROCESSION WITH THE SCROLLS
As the procession moves forward the Cantor and Choir chant
How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob; thy dwelling places, O Israel! As for me, in the abundance of thy lovingkindness will I come into thy house: I will worship toward thy holy temple in the fear of thee.
