Temple Sholom 20th Anniversary Booklet (Cincinnati, OH)

1974

caption:

This seven-branched candelabrum is shaped after the “Tree of Life” (Proverbs 3:18) and the “Burning Bush” (Exodus 3:2) suggesting both the light of Wisdom and of continuing Revelation. The Hebrew “Sholom” - that is, universal Well-being and Peace - can be discerned in the lamp branches. “And you shall make a candlestick… with the lamps thereof, seven.” (Exodus 25:31,37) All art-metal work facing the congregation at worship was originally designed by Stanford Brod.
